Cet article examine la relation complexe entre le récit biblique de l'Arche de Noé et la caractéristique géographique connue sous le nom de Mont Ararat. Sur la base d'une analyse des preuves historiques, des expéditions archéologiques et des recherches géophysiques modernes, l'évolution des idées concernant le lieu de repos final du vaisseau biblique est reconstituée. Une attention particulière est accordée au phénomène de l'« Anomalie d'Ararat », à la structure géologique de Durupinar et au long débat entre la communauté scientifique et les passionnés de la Bible.
